FREDDIE WOODMAN 6
Looked nervy when put under pressure and atoned for his error by keeping out Pelly Ruddock-Mpanzu’s effort in the first half. Some expected but decent stops after that as Swansea got a grip on the game after the restart.
KYLE NAUGHTON 6
Really struggled to help his side get out from the back as Luton carried a real threat on Swansea’s right flank. Yellow carded in the first half as the hosts controlled the game but was far better in the second half.
RYAN BENNETT 7 – Star Man
Dealt very well with the Hatters’ aerial threat but was also booked for a cynical foul. Good display in fairness, in what were testing conditions. No-nonsense as ever.
JOEL LATIBEAUDIERE 7
After realising Luton were so keen to pressurise Woodman, Latibeaudiere adopted a more no-nonsense approach. Made his fair share of clearances and tackles in what was a solid defensive showing.
CONNOR ROBERTS 6
Barely carried an attacking threat in the first half and was frustrated with the lack of support he was given. More involved after the restart though.
MATT GRIMES 7
Had a really tough job on his hands in the middle of the park in the first half but did well to ensure Luton didn’t threaten in central areas. So good defensively in the second half and was productive on the ball. Top display.
KOREY SMITH 7
Was one of few players keen to work out from their own third. Showed composure at times but was also pragmatic when required.
CONOR HOURIHANE 6
Notched his fifth goal of the campaign to put Swansea ahead early on. Didn’t have much of an influence other than that. Couldn’t beat Simon Sluga again in the second half before being subbed.
RYAN MANNING 6
Won a few free-kicks and made some decent tackles. Solid.
YAN DHANDA 6
Great play in the build-up to Swansea’s opener, although his deliveries from set plays were not up to scratch. Very quiet display after such a lively start. Replaced.
ANDRE AYEW 7
Horribly isolated for long periods but his hold-up play was admirable given the lack of support. Really helped to slow things down in the second half with some vital unseen work.
Jamal Lowe (for Dhanda) – Did OK after coming on. Couldn’t test Simon Sluga with an effort on goal. 6
Jay Fulton (for Hourihane) – Gave Swansea’s midfield a lift for the final quarter of the game. 6
