Swansea City transfer news Live: Connor Roberts joins Burnley as Olivier Ntcham and Rhys Williams on radar

Russell Martin on Kyle Joseph

Speaking ahead of the Preston game, we asked Russell Martin about Kyle Joseph who appeared destined to join Cheltenham on loan.

But the situation at the League One club has changed with the news of their swoop for Christian Norton. A deal is not out of the question, but sources at Cheltenham say things have become somewhat complicated on a potential loan deal.

Here’s what Martin said a few days ago…

“Kyle Joseph did great the other night [against Plymouth], playing out of position, but I expect him to go out on loan if I’m being honest,” explained the Swans boss.

“He’s got one of the best attitudes I’ve seen. He’s behind a few guys in our setup, really experienced guys.

“He’s played a bit of first team football already. He has a lot of interest and we’ve taken a lot of calls on Kyle. People understand his mentality and his attitude to work.

“He’s only played 14 or 15 first team games. For me, once you’ve had a taste of that, you need to keep playing. Unfortunately for him, he’s got a lot of experienced players in front of him. He’ll go out on loan, because he has got a lot of interest but it’s about finding the right one for him.”
