School proprietor arrested after his dogs mauled a 2-year-old pupil to death

One Chinedu Okaa, the proprietor of Global Growth Academy, Amokpo, Umuanunwa, Nteje in the Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, has been arrested by the police following an unfortunate accident that led to the death of a 2-year-old pupil.

According to reports, the 2-year-old boy was taken to the school by his parents who wanted to enroll him in the school, and while they were making enquiries the boy wandered off to where he was attacked by the dogs. It was gathered that the dogs which numbered up to ten, dragged the boy to their cages, where they mauled him to death.

Following the incident, youths of the community were said to have stormed the school premises and killed the dogs.

The monarch of the community while reacting to the incident said Okaa was aware that dogs are prohibited in the community, yet he went ahead to rear them. He added that what the man has done, which resulted in the death of a boy, is equivalent to murder.
