A former Super Eagles player and Coach, Samson Siasia, will get a chance to clear his name and redeem his image, after being slammed with a life ban by FIFA.
The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) has fixed October 6 for the hearing of the appeal filed by Siasia against the FIFA ban over allegations of attempting to fix a match without giving him a fair hearing.
Siasia who has said it is his only chance to prove his innocence, has been soliciting for financial support from friends and eminent Nigerians to help him raise funds to be able to attend the CAS hearing in order to redeem his now tainted image.
Fifa has not provided the details of which matches were involved in its investigations into Siasia, who managed the Super Eagles between 2010-2011 and for a spell in 2016 as well coaching he country’s at under-20 and under-23 sides.
But since the ban landed on August 20, 2019, Siasia had not been able to work in Sports anywhere.
