Police incident closed road and caused major traffic disruption

A police incident caused major disruption on a main road in Cardiff on Tuesday afternoon. The A48 in Gabalfa was closed in both directions as police dealt with the incident from around 3.30pm. South Wales Police advised motorists to avoid the area. Wedal Road, which sits alongside the A48, was full of queuing traffic as well as Alansbank Road. The tailbacks on the A48 stretched from Gabalfa Interchange to Llanederyn. The road re-opened at 5pm.
