Our Daily Manna Devotional 19 November 2020 – The Stranded Parrot And The Firefighter

TOPIC: THE STRANDED PARROT AND THE FIREFIGHTER

BASIC SCRIPTURE: ROMANS 2:1-11

ny people are like Parrot Jessie. When they hear a loving call for the salvation of their souls, they rebuff it, asking the preacher, like Jessie, to “fuck off.” You may be reading this piece today and you have rebuffed the salvation message for so long. Do not be like Israel that Apostle Paul referred to in Romans 10:21, “But to Israel He saith, All day long I have stretched forth My hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.” As in Verse 4 of today’s scripture, God’s goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering are aimed at giving you an opportunity for repentance.

Note also that the parrot spoke the words she had always heard the owner use! Be careful how you talk! Be mindful of how you dress! Be concerned generally about your lifestyle because someone or even a parrot might be watching you! The story of Jessie the parrot ended well. Later, she calmed down and returned back home to her owner and was filmed sheepishly saying, “thank you” to the fire service. Your own story too will end well as you always remember that: “Someone somewhere is learning a new lesson watching you live your life” (Wogu Donald). So, shine daily! Pray now!

ODM PRAYER POINTS FOR TODAY 19TH NOVEMBER 2020.

  1. In your own words, pray about today’s word as led
  2. Lord, help me! My life will never bring SHAME to you.
  3. The way I talk or live generally will make me a LIGHT to my world. I will SHINE!
  4. I will never be stranded in life in Jesus’ name. Pray about today as led.
