PHILADELPHIA – Just when the Mets could have used a game to ride the wave of the previous night, the weather intervened.
Friday’s scheduled game against the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park was postponed due to an ominous rainy forecast throughout the night. The game will be made up on Aug. 20 as part of a doubleheader.
The Mets rallied for seven runs in the ninth inning on Thursday to beat the Phillies 8-7 and certainly don’t welcome the off day.
Max Scherzer will get the start for the Mets when the teams resume the series.
