Observations from the Mets’ 8-5 exhibition win over the Cardinals at Clover Park on Friday.

Plunked crazy

Jeff McNeil was hit by three pitches Friday in the Mets’ exhibition victory over the Cardinals. McNeil got hit in the right wrist, right leg and left foot.

Corey clubbed

Corey Oswalt allowed five runs — including two homers — over 2 ²/₃ innings in relief. The right-hander had five strikeouts over two innings in his previous appearance.

Caught my eye

Mets pitchers participated in bunting drills during morning workouts. Manager Luis Rojas plans to let his pitchers begin taking at-bats in exhibition games beginning Sunday with Jacob deGrom.

Saturday’s schedule

The Mets will hold a workout at Clover Park, but are off from the Grapefruit League.
