Marc Guehi has thanked Swansea City for significantly helping his development prior to his transfer to Crystal Palace from Chelsea.
The defender spent 18 months with the Swans and was a key figure as the club twice reached the Championship play-offs under Steve Cooper.
Following Swansea’s 2-0 play-off final defeat to Brentford at Wembley in May, Guehi returned to his then parent club Chelsea.
On Sunday, he completed an £18m switch to Selhurst Park ahead of the new campaign.
But after joining Patrick Vieira’s side, Guehi was quick to thank those who aided his progress during his time at the Liberty Stadium.

“I was just grateful to be given the opportunity to go there so young and get so much game time in the Championship,” he told the Premier League outfit’s official website.
“The Championship is such a tough league and it was a good opportunity for me to go there to play and really try to excel and develop.
“I’m grateful to Swansea. It’s a fantastic club with fantastic people that they gave me the opportunity to play.”
Guehi’s performances for the Swans regularly caught the eye as he impressed in back three and back four defences.
And it was a post-match interview late on in the 2020/21 campaign which saw the England youth World Cup winner go viral on social media.
The 21-year-old won the Man of the Match awards in both of Swansea’s play-off semi-final matches against Barnsley in May.
After being awarded the prize following the second leg at the Liberty Stadium, Guehi was lost for words after admitting he could not understand why he took the gong.
“Honestly, I don’t know how! I don’t know, the first one I was really surprised, now it’s getting a bit ridiculous!” he said.
“Everyone was fantastic, you know, to a man. I could name everyone.
“For me to get this again, I just don’t know.”

The centre-back’s humble nature once again shone through when he was asked about the interview after moving to Crystal Palace.
When asked how much attention he received following that interview, Guehi commented: “Not too much because I’m not actually on social media. I got a few texts from friends, but it was just my natural reaction, it wasn’t planned or anything.”
Guehi made a total of 59 appearances for Swansea.
