Fulham sets up play-off final with Brentford despite loss to Cardiff

Fulham may have lost 2-1 to Cardiff last night, but they successfully reach the Championship play-off final slated for Wembley next Tuesday.

Fulham’s 2-0 first-leg lead helped them progress 3-2 on aggregate to set up an all-West London final against Brentford.

Both teams will now battle for a final chance of an immediate return to the Premier League, with Brentford needing it more as it would be a first chance to play in the top division since 1947. Fulham were last relegated in 2014 from the Premier League following 13 successive seasons in the top flight.
