Conor McGregor’s proof of injury before Dustin Poirier fight

A day after Conor McGregor suffered an unsightly leg injury in a loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, McGregor’s head coach John Kavanagh said the his fighter’s left ankle was injured in training camp.

Now, the Irishman is apparently verifying those claims. The 33-year-old posted a series of images Thursday night on his Twitter account showing he dealt with injuries.

“All you pull out merchants wouldn’t last 13 seconds in my world,” McGregor wrote. “My four-part Netflix docuseries coming soon has the entire behind the scenes. I’m going to title it, ‘Mad Mac’s: Fury Road.’”

In the photos, his left ankle is wrapped with tape or in a brace. One even showed a doctor looking at X-rays of the UFC star.

“Wouldn’t change my journey for no ones!” McGregor added. “The greatest of all time!”

McGregor will try to cement his legacy as just that. He has promised that once he recovers, there will be another fight against Poirier. Saturday’s loss dropped McGregor to 22-6-0 in his career and 1-2 against his fierce rival.

“Dustin, you can celebrate that illegitimate win all you want, but you’ve done nothing in there,” McGregor said after the fight. “That second round would’ve shown all. You know onwards and upwards we go, team. We dust ourselves off, we build ourselves back, and we come back better than ever. Let’s go, team.”
