Cardiff City transfer ins and outs as Bluebirds loan Josh Murphy to Preston and Wolves interest in Kieffer Moore seen off

Cardiff City’s deadline day looked like being a quiet affair before there was a flurry of activity in the evening.

Late on there was interest shown in Kieffer Moore, Alex Smithies and Josh Murphy, with the latter making a loan move to Preston North End – confirmed at 11.45pm on Tuesday night.

Keeping hold of Moore was the obvious priority this summer and despite unwelcomed late contact from Wolves, the Bluebirds will have the Wales international striker leading the line for the 2021-22 season. In anyone’s book, that is a real bonus for Mick McCarthy and Cardiff’s play-off ambitions.

Here is the full list of ins and outs at the club from the summer window.

Ins

Marley Watkins (Bristol City, free transfer)

James Collins (Luton, free transfer)

Ryan Wintle (Crewe, free transfer)
