Footage has emerged of the training ground fight between Alun Wyn Jones and Jake Ball that left the Wales captain with a cut and black eye during the Six Nations.
The video shows the two men square up as team-mates watch on, before Ball appears to slap Jones in the head.
The Lions skipper then responds by throwing a punch before the two men exchange a flurry of shots.
Ball appears to get the better of the altercation, clearly causing a cut above Jones’ left eye.
A raft of team-mates step in to pull the pair apart, with Ken Owens and Josh Navidi among them, while members of the coaching staff look on.
The fight happened four days before Wales’ Six Nations opener against Ireland in February, ahead of which Jones was pictured sporting a nasty back eye.
Ball, who is departing Welsh rugby this summer, last week gave his version of events, telling The XV Rugby : “It’s one of those things, isn’t it? The biggest irony was that it was a case of mistaken identity at training.
“Al thought it was me who had pulled down a maul, when it was actually Rhys Carre who instigated the whole situation, but he melted into the background.
“He threw a couple of punches and I threw a couple back. Luckily for me, a few more of mine landed.
“That’s rugby. Me and Al spoke about it and we’ve moved on.”
